Mini Makeup Haul: Rimmel Lipstick + Nail Varnish

Today, I was having a little look around the co-op pharmacy where I live (the only half decent place for makeup, even the boots is so tiny it has about 2 stands, neither of which are any good) and decided I fancied buying myself a new lipstick.

Here's a little fact for you, although I love makeup and am a big fan of bold lip colours (a strong red lip is usually my go to for if I'm going out anywhere) I've never actually bought a lipstick. My Mum is a long-time fan of Clinique makeup and has always got the gift sets they do where you buy a few products and get some free bits and bobs and all of my lipsticks have either come from those or are ones she's bought and not liked (I have a few Avon ones because of this)  Today I thought I'd actually choose one and buy it for myself because I've wanted a really strong red for a while because the closest I have is a sort of orange-y red.

I love a lot of Rimmel's other makeup so thought that would be a good place to start and although I spent ages looking at the Kate Moss ones, there wasn't much of a colour selection there for them because it's a small store. I did see this one, however, which is part of the Lasting Finish collection. I got it in the shade 'Alarm' and although it doesn't show that true to colour from the photos, it's a really strong red.

When I went up to the till to pay the lady told me that there was an offer on which meant I got a free Nail Polish with the Lipstick so I went back and picked out this lovely coral colour called '415 Instyle Coral'. I've not tried it yet (and didn't have time to try it in the shop either!) but it looks like a lovely pink-y coral.

Hello there beautiful people of the internet!

My name is Lucy and, as you have probably guessed by now, I've made a new blog! For those of you who don't know, I already have a personal blog (click here if you'd like to read it!) where I post random things from music related content right through to thoughts from places (a written adaptation of the popular vlogbrothers videos) and I also have a book blog (click here!) where I post about...well...books!

I've been thinking about starting some sort of beauty blog for a while and as I was typing away earlier today preparing a post for my personal blog that was all about makeup I just thought 'what the heck' and decided to create what you're now reading!

I am in no way at all claiming to be an expert in the field of makeup, beauty or fashion. I'm just your average teenage girl who loves reading beauty blogs, watching beauty gurus on YouTube and likes to blog. Pretty much everything I know about makeup (aside from one or two things I've picked up from the people around me and such things) I've learnt through YouTube and I only very recently took the leap from watching YouTube videos about beauty to reading beauty blogs but I have to say, I've fallen in love with the beauty blogging community!
